Thousands of Jordanians Protest against Their Government's Gas Deal with Zionist Entity

AMMAN-Thousands of people have staged a demonstration in Jordan to express their resentment over the government’s decision to sign a multi-billion-dollar gas deal with the Israeli regime.

The protesters gathered in downtown Amman following Friday prayers, and carried signs reading “The Enemy's Gas is Occupation” and “No to the Shameful Deal” in Arabic, according to Press TV.

Iran and Turkey agree to cooperate for ending crisis in Syria

Tehran – The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday an Iranian-Turkish agreement on “cooperation” for ending the crisis in Syria and sending humanitarian aid to it.

The agreement was announced upon a visit paid by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Ankara, SANA reported.

The Public and Media Diplomacy Center at the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the agreement between Tehran and Ankara is considered a “important achievement” reached after the short visit of Zarif to Ankara.

Rouhani: Iran presses ahead with assisting Syria

TEHRAN – In a meeting with Syrian Parliament Speaker Hadiya Khalaf Abbas in Tehran on Tuesday President Hassan Rouhani renewed Tehran’s support for the war-torn Syria, saying any attempt to redraw regional borders will not be in the best interests of the region. 

“Preserving the territorial integrity and unity of all regional countries is a basic principle of” of the Islamic Republic, Rouhani stressed, according to the Tehran Times.

“Tehran feels called upon to help contain terrorism and restore security to the region and believes that redrawing borders will never be in the region’s interests,” he added. 

Baghdad Blasts Leave 19 Dead, Many Injured

Four explosions, two of them back-to-back, have rocked the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, killing 19 people and injuring 61 others, according to Press T.V.

On Tuesday, a bomber struck a crowded area in the vicinity of the al-Samarrai Mosque in the Baghdad al-Jidida (New Baghdad) district in the east of the capital.

According to Iraq’s al-Sumaria news website, another bombing hit the same area minutes later.
