Israeli occupation authorities prevent Palestinians from performing prayers at al-Ibrahimi Mosque

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Israeli occupation forces prevented the Palestinians from reaching al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron in the West Bank to perform dawn prayers today.
Director of the Religious Endowments  in Hebron  Hifzi Abu Sneinah said in a statement to the Palestinian News Agency that the occupation troops set up military checkpoints in the surrounding area of the Mosque and along all the roads leading to it, preventing the Palestinians from reaching the Mosque.
Abu Sneinah denounced the occupation authorities’ repressive measures that aim to empty the mosque from its worshippers, noting that these measures represent a new sacrilegious attack against the Islamic sacred places.
The official in charge of the Old Town Mohannad al-Ja’abari  said that the influx of the Palestinians to the Mosque came  following the re-opening of the mosques by the Palestinian government after three months closure within the framework of the precautionary measures taken to confront the spread of the Corona virus pandemic, calling on the Palestinians to come to al-Ibrahimi Mosque and perform prayers despite the occupation’s arbitrary measures.
