Sheikh Abdulamir Qablan: coordination and integration with Syria are necessity

Beirut, (ST) - The head of the Supreme Shia Council, Sheikh Abdulamir Qablan, renewed the call for coordination and integration with Syria in the interest of both countries.

In a message on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Qablan called on the Lebanese government to cooperate closely with the Syrian government and activate the joint agreements that benefit the two brotherly peoples.

He said that “Lebanon is a country rich in its wealth and potential, but its money is looted and it  is subject to hegemony, external dictates and economic pressures. Today the opportunity is available for the government to  be liberated from these pressures by redrawing an economic policy based on supporting productive sectors and liberation from American sanctions that have affected Lebanon’s economy and affected its relations with brotherly countries”.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, Qablan affirmed his denunciation and rejection of the so-called "deal of the century" aimed at liquidating the Palestinian issue and perpetuating settlement and abolishing the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes, stressing that occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) was and remains the eternal capital of the state of Palestine.
