Putin confirms preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria

On October 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the need to preserve Syria's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and the exit of all illegal foreign forces on its territory.

During a press conference with President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi today, Putin stressed that the establishment of sustainable stability in Syria is only through the commitment to the respect of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is a principled position for Russia. Putin pointed out that the Syrian territory should be evacuated from the illegal foreign military presence.

Putin underlined the necessity of finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria and that the Syrians are the only ones who can decide the future of their country.

Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres announced on September 23 reaching an agreement to form a committee to discuss the Constitution, noting the efforts of the Syrian government in this regard.

Putin called for not obstructing the return of Syrian displaced to their homelands.

Putin called on the international community and the UN organizations to provide assistance to them without any discrimination, politicization or preconditions.
