Syria participates in the meetings of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Baghdad

The meetings of the Permanent Committee for Planning and Budget in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly starts in Baghdad today with the participation of a delegation from the People's Assembly headed by Ali Sattof, member of the Council.

The Committee discusses several reports concerning the planning and follow-up of the Committee's work over the past and the coming periods.

Mohammad al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, stressed the importance of these meetings in laying down the necessary plans to develop the work of the Assembly, which comprises parliaments and Shoura councils of sixteen Asian countries.

Halbousi said: "Terrorism has not only targeted Iraq, but also was targeting the region and the world countries without any exception. Our battle is not over yet and we still have problems left behind by terrorism which need to be addressed."

Halbousi noted that putting an end to ISIS terrorist organization is eminent to all humanity not only to Iraqis.
