Presence of Damascus at Sochi Congress Means Willingness for Dialogue – Lawmaker

SOCHI- The participation of the Syrian government representatives in the National Dialogue Congress in Sochi demonstrates the willingness of Damascus to engage in dialogue with the opposition, Syrian lawmaker and Congress participant Muhannad Al-Hajali said on Monday, according to Sputnik.

"This once again proves that the Syrian government has not been fighting against its political opponents, the Syrian government has been fighting against terrorism, and what you have seen here confirms that the government is ready to engage in a political dialogue with those forces that are constructively seeking a political solution to the crisis in Syria," Al-Hajali told reporters.

Syrian Army advances in Idleb countryside after fierce clashes with al-Nusra

Idleb – The Syrian Arab Army expanded its control in the vicinity of Abu al-Dohour military airfield as a part of the continued military operations against Jabhat al-Nusra in the southeastern countryside of Idleb.

SANA said that army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, continued advancing in the southeastern countryside of Idleb countryside, restoring control over Jafer and al-Khafia villages and Dahrit al-Khafia height after fierce battles with terrorists, dozens of whom were killed or injured while the rest fled.

Army units stormed the dens of al-Nusra in the town of Abu al-Dohour, where violent clashes took place in which the army inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorists’ ranks and equipment.

Syrian National Dialogue Congress Starts Today in Sochi, Drafts Circulated about Communique Inaccurate

SOCHI, (ST)-Preparations for the launching the Syrian National Dialogue Congress are to start later today in the Russian city of Sochi. Participating delegations continue to arrive in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

The plenary session of the Congress, in which more than 1600 persons representing all strata of the Syrian society will take part, is expected to be held on Tuesday, according to Russia Today website.

Solidarity Stand in Aleppo Rejecting US Intervention in Syria

ALEPPO- A solidarity stand was staged in Aleppo University in support of the national decision and in rejection of the US intervention in Syria and the US illegal military presence which violates the international law and makes an aggression on the Syrian sovereignty, according to SANA.

The Syrian students expressed their condemnation of the US intervention in Syria, this intervention which is embodied by supplying and supporting terrorists and hindering the efforts exerted to realize a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

Turkish Aggression Continues to Target Residential Neighborhoods, Archaeological Places in Syria's Afrin

ALEPPO, (ST)-  the Turkish aggression continues for the ninth day running to target residential areas as well as worshipping places and archaeological sites in Syria's Afrin area and  the surrounding villages.

Using different kinds of weapon, the Turkish army forces on Sunday bombarded villages and towns in Jandaris area in Afrin city in northern Aleppo countryside, according to local sources.

The Turkish brutal attacks destroyed a number of houses and shops as well as Salahuddin al-Ayyubi Mosque and Jandaris town's cemetery , the sources said, adding that the infrastructure in the targeted towns and villages was seriously damaged making the citizens' life more difficult because of the continuous shelling and the absence of electricity and water.

Syrian Army regains al-Waz Hill in Aleppo, repels terrorist attack on village in Deir Ezzor

Aleppo/Deir Ezzor, – Syrian Arab Army units regained control over al-Waz Hill in Aleppo’s southern countryside after eliminating the last gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and groups affiliated to it and destroying their fortified locations and ordnance.

SANA said that units of the army along with supporting forces continued their war against Jabhat al-Nusra in Aleppo’s southern countryside with an operation which resulted in regaining control al-Waz hill west of Tarafawi village, killing and injuring many terrorists.

SANA added that the army units started combing the hill immediately and fortified their positions in it, chasing down the fleeing terrorists, killing and injuring many of them and destroying their vehicles.
