Syrian Principled Stance towards Palestinian Cause Affirmed

Syria reaffirmed  its principled and firm stand in support of the Palestinian people's rights of self determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the United Nations' General Assembly relevant Resolutions.

The Syrian stance came in a message on the 29th of November marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The message was addressed by Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal Mikdad to the Chairman of the United Nations' Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Ambassador Cheikh Niang.

Syria's Foreign Minister stressed in the message that no progress has been made so far by the international community to put an end to the Israeli occupation of the Arab lands adding that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is the platform that keeps the Palestinian cause alive in the face of the ongoing threats to the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation forces and authorities which continue to annex the Syrian Golan Heights in flagrant violation to UN resolutions and charter.

The Foreign Minister also stressed the Syrian firm stand in  rejecting the Israeli occupation of the Arab lands, and the Syrian condemnation of the war crimes perpetrated by Israel, the occupying power in the Palestinian territories. The Foreign Minister further stressed Syria’s rejection of Israeli decisions and measures that do not comply with the United Nations' relevant resolutions and the International Charters.
