Syrian Arab army adopts new tactics in al-Qsir battle

PROVINCES,(ST)_Successfully, the Syrian Arab army completes the first stage of military operation in al-Qsir city in the central Homs province and adopts new tactics based on carrying out qualitative operations against foreign-backed terrorist groups, a military source said.

In details, units of armed forces have taken control of al-Akkari farm and Tal al-Ser outside al-Qsir after cleansing them of terrorists while other units have continued hunting down the terrorists in al-Hamedeyeh town in the same area.

A military source declared that the units of armed forces have dismantled tens of explosive devices planted by terrorists inside homes and on main roads in the western quarter, noting that several tunnels have been found in the said quarter. 

It added that several terrorist' hideouts have been pounded in towns of Aqrab, Kisin, al-Ghanto, Talbisa, Southern al-Mashjar, Bet Hajjo, Eastern al-Bweda ,and al-Rastan areas resulted in killing three terrorist leaders and many of their men.

In Homs city, the units of armed forces eliminated unknown number of terrorists in quarters of al-Qarabis, al-Khaledeyeh, Joret al-Shayyah, al-Hamedeyeh, al-Warsheh, and Basatin al-Waer.

Meanwhile, the units of armed forces continued targeting terrorist groupings and their weapons in Harasta, Doma, Jobar, Barzeh, al-Jarba, Qesa,al-Mliha,and al-Bahareya areas outside Damascus.

2 booby-trapped cars destroyed

In this context, an official source told SANA that a unit of armed forces destroyed two booby-trapped cars loaded with 1300 kg explosives on Harasta-Damascus road. The terrorists inside the cars were reportedly dead.

'Revolution' intelligence officer killed

Whilst,  the units of armed forces outside the northern Aleppo province pounded many of terrorists' hideouts and caches near the central prison, Meneg military airport, Atareb, and Kafernaha areas.

A big number of terrorists, including the Jordanian terrorist Mohammad al-Mohannadi, who is called "Officer of revolution intelligence", was killed near Aleppo prison.

It was also reported that clashes broke out between armed forces and terrorist groups in squares of al-Hamedeyeh, al-Marje, and B'eden in Aleppo city and in quarters of al-Sena'a and al-Jam'eyat and al-M'reeyeh town in Der Ezzour province.

Terrorists kill each other

On the other hand, a quarrel broke out between two armed terrorist groups over sharing loots in al-Mayadeen city in Der Ezzour province ended in the death of dozens of the groups' members.

 Syria is facing a foreign-backed war that aims to weaken the Syrian Arab army and destroy national economy to serve Israel's interests in the region.

The US, France, Britain, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia fund and support the terrorist groups, who perpetrate heinous crimes against citizen and destroy Syria's infrastructure


Al-Mouallem: Syria has no option but victory

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Syrian officials have met the visiting Tunisian delegation and briefed them on what is going on in Syria.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Mouallem, told the delegation that the regional and international parties involved in the conspiracy against Syria seek to destroy the country and divert Arab people's attention away from the central Arab national cause-Palestine-  

"The conspirators, in addition, work tirelessly to fragment social and cultural fabric of the Syrian society which is known for being an example of co-existence," al-Mouallem said, stressing that Syria has no option but victory.

"Syria's victory over war being waged against it is a victory for Arab nation's just causes."

The Foreign Minister, also, underscored that Arab national parties have a key role in confronting dangers that face the Arab nation. He thanked the Tunisian parties for their solidarity with Syria.

Following the meeting, representative of Tunisian People's Movement Party for resisting aggression on Syria, Mohammad al-Azhar Ali, told reporters that the meeting was distinguished and it dealt with all topics related to Syrian- Tunisian ties."

"We raised the issue of misled Tunisians who joined the Takfiri gunmen to fight the Syrian Arab army. The delegation will press the Tunisian government to solve all issues," al-Azhar added.


Al-Zou'bi: aggression targets Syrian state  

The Tunisian delegation also met Information Minister, Omran al-Zou'bi, who stressed that the aggression on Syria targets from the very beginning the Syrian state.

Al-Zou'bi noted the decrees and laws issued by the Syrian government at all levels to pave the ground for launching comprehensive reform.

He also talked about the role of some Gulf States in fueling violence in Syria through supporting terrorist groups that perpetrate crimes against citizens and systematically destroy Syria's infrastructure.

Al-Zou'bi briefed the delegation on Syria's modern political history and the political stability which the country has enjoyed since the 1970s.

3mln job opportunities lost

Later on, the delegation met Head of the General Federation of Workers Unions, Mohammad Sha'aban Azzouz, who spoke of losses in industrial facilities as a result of the terrorist groups' acts.

"At least 1000 workers have been martyred and 3 million job opportunities have been lost due to the terrorist acts that targeted factories across Syria," Azzouz said.

The Tunisian delegation censured the global war against Syria, stressing solidarity with the Syrian people in their steadfastness.

The delegation includes representatives of several parties and activists.

Friends of Syria meeting in Jordan is gathering of "enemies of Syria" ,says Suleiman

AMMAN,(ST)-"It is a meeting of Syria's enemies, or friends of Israel," the Syrian ambassador to Jordan, Bahjat Suleiman, said in a news conference hours before the "Friends of Syria" group meets in Amman .

Voice of Russia quoted Suleiman as saying :"those   who want to end the tragedy in Syria need to stop arming and training terrorist gangs in Syria. The war on Syria is unprecedented".

"Suleiman asserted that the Syrian government  was "defending itself and will continue to fight Israel's tools in the region".

"We understand the pressures that Jordan is facing, but the kingdom should not involve itself in the war on Syria. Amman's security is linked to Damascus's security," he said.


President Congratulates on Yemen National Day

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday sent a cable of congratulations  to President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic of Yemen on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of Yemen National Unity Day.

On behalf of the Syrian Arab people and his own behalf, the President expressed most sincere congratulations and best wishes to President Hadi and the brotherly people of Yemen.

Syrian Arab army fight terrorists in four fronts

PROVINCES,(ST)_At least four fronts in Syria are witnessing intense fighting between units of armed forces and foreign-backed terrorist groups.

The fiercest fighting has broken out in al-Qsir city in the central Homs province where the armed forces are hunting down terrorists in the southern and northern areas and destroying several tunnels, which were used by terrorists to store weapons and ammunitions.

Unknown number of terrorists from al-Nusra Front  is reportedly killed in the fighting which coincided with dismantling tens of explosive devices planted by terrorists inside homes, public  utilities and on main roads in al-Qsir city.

In al-Wa'er area in the same province (Homs), the armed forces found a field hospital including medicines and medical equipment stolen from public and private hospitals in the province.

Terrorists' infiltration bids foiled

On the other hand, the armed forces repelled terrorists' bid to sneak from Lebanon through al-Sarhaneyeh, Heet, Bwit areas, north al-Qsir city, into Syria.

Another attempt to infiltrate into Syria from Jordan through several sites in the Southern Daraa province was also foiled.

Meanwhile, units of armed forces targeted terrorists' hideouts in Hajjera, Adra al-Balad, Jobar, Harasta, al-Jarba, al-Bahhareya, Qesa, Darayya, al-Nabk, Der Ateyeh, al-Kesweh, and Barzeh areas outside Damascus province.

A military source stressed that a lot of terrorists from al-Nusra Front and non-Syrian terrorists have been killed in the operations carried out in the said areas.

In the northern Aleppo province, the units of armed forces eliminated unknown number of terrorists during operations carried out against terrorist groupings near Meneg airport and central prison and in Khan al-Assal  al-Layramon, Betan al-Qaser, and Sheikh saeed areas.

At the same time, several terrorists' hideouts in Sermin city in Idleb province were pounded.

In the southern Daraa province, the units of armed forces clashed with terrorist groups in Daraa al-Balad, al-Shajara, al-Hrak and Sheikh Miskin areas ended in killing dozens of al-Nusra Front-affiliated terrorists.

Syria calls on UNSC to put an end to Zionist entity's breaches

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Once again, Syria reiterates that it has the right to immediately respond to any breach of its sovereignty and territories under the UN charter, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said.  

In a letter sent to the UN Security Council about Israel's recent violations of the Syrian sovereignty, the ministry said: "Today morning, an Israeli vehicle crossed the ceasefire line and headed towards the village of Ber Ajam inside a liberated area in the Golan where there are armed terrorist groups, so the Syrian armed forces destroyed the vehicle with everything that it had in it. Later on, Israel fired two heat rockets from Tal al-Faras in the occupied Golan towards the Syrian Arab Republic's territories."

The ministry  underscored that the two incidents are new breaches of the UN charter and the Disengagement agreement and an attack on Syria's sovereignty.  

"The Syrian Arab Republic has responded to this violation within the framework of practicing the right of self-defense under the UN charter," the letter read.

It reminded that the Syrian government has previously informed the UNSC about the Israel's violation acts and meddling in Syria's internal affairs.

Israel offers logistic support to the armed terrorist groups in Syria and in the Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) Zone, the ministry affirmed.

It called on the UNSC to fulfill its role in putting an end to the Israeli violation acts.

Cabinet :Army's Victories Pave the Way for Restoring Stability

DAMASCUS, (ST)- "the recent army's victories have sounded  positively on the internal situation, "said  Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi.

"the next stage needs further efforts from all walks life of Syria  in a bid to  prepare for the process of reconstruction after the crisis ends soon, "added al-Halqi.

Al-Halqi's remarks came during a meeting the cabinet held on Tuesday.

"victory is inching closer , the government will soon take serious economic measures that can enhance the capabilities of the national economy and reflect positively on the citizens' livelihood,"al-Halqi reiterated.

During its weekly session ,chaired by Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi , the cabinet lauded the great victories achieved by the Syrian army in its operations against the armed terrorist groups that will definitely pave the way for restoring security and stability to the homeland.

the cabinet highlighted the wide popular relief over these victories, referring to the positive impact they have on the national dialogue process.

Al-Halqi also hailed the positive outcomes of the meetings held by the ministerial committee entrusted with materializing  the political program to solve the crisis.

"needless to say that those meetings will lead to holding the national dialogue conference in Syria,"al-Halqi affirmed.

Ministers of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs and Internal Trade and Consumer Protection briefed the cabinet on the latest political developments on the Arab and international arenas and on the economic and service situation in the country as well.
