Representing President al-Assad, Lattakia Governor Offers Condolences to Family of Late Scientist Fawaz al-Azki

LATTAKIA-Representing President Bashar al-Assad, Governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khudr al-Salem on Wednesday offered condolences to the family of late scientist Fawaz al-Azki , who died on Sunday.

According to SANA, the family of the deceased expressed their thanks and appreciation to President al-Assad for this kind gesture.

“Upon the directives of President al-Assad, I convey his true and genuine condolences to the family over the passing of Dr, al-Azki , who is a scientific and nationalistic figure in Syria,” the governor said.

Al-Azki was born in Qismin village in Lattakia countryside, 1959. He had a Geophysical Engineering BA from the University of Bucharest in 1985 and Ph.D. in Geology from the same University in 1995.

Al-Jaafari: It Is Syria's Duty and Right to Protect Its Citizens from Terrorism

NEW YORK, (ST)- Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, which controls most of Idleb province, continues its attacks on neighboring areas and on the Syrian army positions, Syria's Permanent Representative at the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari has stressed, reiterating that it is the Syrian state's right and duty to protect its citizens from terrorism and that Syria will liberate all its territories from terrorism and from any illegal presence of foreign troops.

 During a Security Council session on Tuesday dealing with the situation in Syria, al-Jaafari said that all have realized that the Syrians' suffering has been the result of the crimes perpetrated by the terrorist organizations as well as the acts of aggression and war crimes by the US-led coalition and its affiliated militias. The Syrians' suffering has been caused also by the barbaric economic terrorist war imposed on them and that worsened their lives, he added.

Army responds to terrorists’ breaches, destroys number of their dens in northern Hama

Hama  -  Syrian Arab Army units responded to terrorist groups’ repeated breaches of the de-escalation zone agreement and targeted their dens and gatherings in several areas in northern Hama.

SANA said that the army units carried out intensive operations at the dawn on the gatherings and directions  of the movement of” Jabhat al-Nusra” terrorists and other groups affiliated to in the outskirts of Mourek, az-Zakat and al-Arba’in in northern Hama.

The operations resulted in the killing and injury of many terrorists, some of them of foreign nationalities, infiltrated across the Turkish border.

Caches and quantities of weapons and ammunition for terrorists were destroyed during the operations.

On Monday, the army units destroyed hideouts for al-Nusra terrorists in the outskirts of Kafar Nobboul, Tarmala, Maaret Herme and Kafar Sajneh towns in Idleb’s southern countryside.

Terrorists fire rockets at towns in Hama countryside

Hama – Terrorist organizations continued their breaches of the de-escalation zone agreement, firing rocket shells at towns in Hama countryside.

SANA said that terrorists located in the far northern countryside of the province fired three rocket shells at Qamhana town north of Hama city, causing material damage.

Later, SANA said terrorists fired rockets at Salhab town in the province’s northern countryside, causing material damage to houses and properties and fires in nearby fields.

Israeli media reveals occupation government’s involvement in fabrication of chemical incidents by White Helmets

Occupied Al-Quds – After years of denial hiding behind the lie of “humanitarian work,” the Israeli media revealed the Israeli occupation government’s involvement in the fabrication of chemical incidents by terrorist organizations in Syria, SANA reported.

A televised report by the Israeli Channel 12 confirmed that the Israeli occupation government supervised and cooperated with the “White Helmets” terrorists to stage fake chemical incidents to frame the Syrian Arab Army, which were later promoted by Western and Gulf media outlets to serve as pretext for a military attack on Syria.

This is the first open and clear acknowledgement of the Israeli role in supporting the White Helmets, which had previously denied having any relations with the Israeli entity despite the fact that the Israeli government had evacuated 800 of the White Helmets members and their relatives from the south of Syria upon an American request.

Terrorists from “Free Army” execute child with special needs from Efrin

Aleppo – Terrorist groups supported by Erdogan’s regime added a new heinous crime to their record by executing a child with special needs along with his father.

SANA said that terrorists from the “Free Army” executed Mohammad Rashid Khalil, a child with special needs they had abducted from the town of Efrin, after his family were unable to pay the ransom the terrorists had demanded which amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Social media pages said the terrorists murdered the child’s father as well after torturing him in the town of Azaaz in Aleppo’s northwestern countryside, while the fate of a third abducted person shown in pictures along with the two other victims remains unknown.

"Jump Start" Project Launched in Syrian Universities to Invest Students' Energy, Creativity in Sustainable Development, Reconstruction

With the aim of encouraging and supporting innovation and creativity of the university students of engineering faculties, "Jump Start" project was recently launched at Damascus University, Tishreen University in Lattakia province and Al-Baath University in Homs. The project is to be implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and the United Nation Development Program (UNDP).  

"Jump Strat" comes within a series of programs and projects supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)  to provide support for students' graduation projects in the applied engineering faculties of public universities for the academic year 2018-2019. The aim is to invest the energy and creativity of university students to contribute to sustainable development and reconstruction of Syria.
