 DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban has stressed that the ongoing developments in the Arab countries and the attempts to engage the Arab and Islamic nations in internal troubles aim at ending the Arab-Israeli conflict the way the Zionists like.

In a press conference on Thursday following the emergency meeting of al-Quds International Foundation Trustees, Shaaban said "the ongoing Arab bloody winter which they call Arab spring will produce a true Arab spring the tools of which are possessed by the Arab nation through resistance and continuous struggle to restore the usurped Arab rights."

More Calls for Participation in Upcoming Presidential Elections

Syrian Arab Army Wards Off Attack on Aleppo Central Prison, Strikes Terrorist Groupings Outside Homs and Idleb

PROVINCES,(ST)_ Large numbers of terrorists were killed and injured in military operations in several areas outside Aleppo, Homs, Idleb and Daraa provinces, military sources said on Wednesday.

The sources were quoted on the official news agency (SANA) as saying that the operations targeted terrorist groupings in al-Ramoseh, al-Layramon, the industrial city, Kafr Hamra, Hritan, Andan, Dar etEzzeh, Khan al-Asal, Handarat and al-Jandol in northern Aleppo province and in al-Dar al-Kabira, Hosh Hajjo and Edon in Talbeseh outside Homs province.

At Least 16 Civilians Wounded in Damascus by Mortar Attacks

DAMASCUS,(ST)_At least 16 civilians have been wounded by mortar attacks on several urban areas in Damascus, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency said today that a shell- fired by terrorists- landed on a house in the old Mazzeh near “al-Zahra’a” Mosque where four members of a family, including eight-year old child, were wounded.

Twelve more civilians were wounded when several shells-fired by terrorists- hit al-Zablatani, al-Qassa’a and al-Abbaseyen quarters.

Gunmen Start Leaving Old Homs: Governor

HOMS-Governor of Homs Talal Barazi on Wednesday said that the first batch of gunmen started to leave the districts of old Homs after all necessary arrangements were made.

Barazi told SANA reporter that the exit of gunmen will be accompanied by reconciliation efforts to make Homs free of weapons and gunmen.

"Keen efforts are being exerted to involve the entire city's districts not only Old Homs," the governor said.

He added that "following the exit process some army and armed forces units are to comb the area, dismantle the explosive devices and mines placed by the terrorist groups and remove the sand barriers.
