Al-Moallem: Neither Obama nor anybody else can decide for the Syrian people


New York – The U.S. President Barack Obama and other officials should understand that only the Syrian people have the right to determine their future, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem said on Tuesday.

“I said this to John Kerry at Geneva 2 conference and I repeat it now: ‘Neither Obama nor anybody else can determine the choice of the Syrian people,'” al-Moallem told the journalists in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting, SANA reported.

Syrian army kills over 71 terrorists and pounds terror hideouts in 6 provinces

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has killed over 52 terrorists in Aleppo, Quneitra and Lattakia countryside and has destroyed several terrorist hideouts in Idleb and Hama countryside.

According to a military source, army units, backed by Syrian warplanes, targeted terrorist organizations in towns of al-Seikh Lutfi, Kweris, Erbid and Rasm al-Abed and on the outskirts of al-Nairab airbase in the eastern countryside of Aleppo as well as on the outskirts of the Air Forces Academy east of Aleppo city and in several quarters of Aleppo city.

Al-Jaafari: The Russian reading is accurate, no fight against terrorism without the Syrian army


New York – Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari described the Russian reading of the situation as an “accurate” one, citing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s stress to the UN General Assembly on the inconceivability of fighting terrorism without coordination with the Syrian army.

2 wounded in terrorist mortar fire on Damascus

DAMASCUS,(ST)_At least 2 persons were hurt as four mortar rounds hit the historic Bab Touma quarter and Mazzeh Jabal 86 quarter in Damascus, a police command source declared on Tuesday.

The source clarified that the 2 persons were wounded in the terror mortar fire on Bab Touma quarter, adding that several cars were damaged at the scene.

American Delegation Visits Syria, Discusses Work Aiming at Lifting US Economic Sanctions

ِLahham to French delegation: States hostile to Syria must review their stances

A French delegation arrived in Syria last Saturday to express solidarity with the Syrian people and to have an idea about the Syrian people's needs and the mechanism of protecting the cultural heritage in the country.

The delegation, which is composed of Members of Parliament and journalists, visited Lattakia city and some historic and archeological sites in Homs province before coming to the capital [Damascus].

Syrian army destroys ISIS car bombs east of Palmyra, inflicts big losses on terrorists in Aleppo

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syrian army has destroyed several ISIS vehicle bombs east of Palmyra city and has inflicted heavy losses on terrorist organizations in Aleppo, military sources confirmed Monday.

The sources said that Syrian warplanes bombed  today morning ISIS groupings on Palmyra-Sekhneh road- about 160 km far away from Homs city- destroying several vehicles and tanks loaded with explosives.
