Syria Renews Call on UN, UNSC to Force Occupation to Immediately Release All Syrian Prisoners, Stop Violations in Occupied Territories

NEW YORK, (ST)-Munzer Munzer, the Charge d’ Affaires of Syria’s Permanent delegation to the United Nations has stressed the need to end the policy of random arbitrary arrests adopted by the Israeli occupation forces against the Syrians in the occupied Syrian Golan. 

Munzer’s remarks came during a Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East yesterday.

Chief of Staff visits al-Sheikh Miskeen city in Daraa

Daraa – Commissioned by President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub inspected on Tuesday the Syrian Army units operating in al-Sheikh Miskeen city in Daraa over which the army established control, SANA reported.

Ayoub toured in the city, inspected the damage which terrorist organizations caused in it, and met the soldiers stationed in it, with the Chief of the General Staff affirming that this achievement forms an important step towards more victories in the southern region.

Army Command: Restoring security to al-Sheikh Miskeen dealt a major blow to terrorists

Damascus – The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said restoring security and stability to al-Sheikh Miskeen city is a springboard for further combat operations, SANA reported.

Establishing control over the city, located in the northern countryside of Daraa province, just dealt a major blow to the terrorist organizations and their supporters, the General Command added in a statement.

Syria: Terrorist bombings in Homs require immediate and stern condemnation from Security Council

Damascus – The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that the two terrorist bombing that took place in Homs city on Tuesday and other similar terrorist crimes require an immediate and stern condemnation from Security Council and taking deterrent actions against the states that support and fund terrorism, SANA reported.

In two identical letters sent to the UN Secretary-General and to the head of the Security Council, the Ministry said that terrorist organizations detonated a car bomb on Tuesday morning in al-Siteen Street in al-Zahra’a neighborhood in Homs, and that attack was followed by another attack by suicide bomber using an explosive belt, claiming the lives of 24 civilian and injuring more than 100 civilians, some of whom sustained severe injuries, in addition to damaging houses and infrastructures in the area.

14 people martyred in terrorist attacks at al-Zahra’a area in Homs, Cabinet condemns

Homs - Homs Governor said that 14 people were martyred others were injured in two terrorist attacks targeted Tuesday a security check point in the 60th Street in al-Zahra’a residential neighborhood in Homs city, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

A number of civilians were martyred and wounded in two terrorist explosions at 60th Street in al-Zahra’a residential neighborhood in Homs city, SANA reported earlier.

Army establishes full control over al-Sheikh Miskeen, Daraa countryside

Daraa - Units of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces established full control over al-Sheikh Miskeen town in the northern countryside of Daraa province, SANA reported.

Earlier Monday, Army and Armed Forces units advanced on all directions in Sheikh Miskeen, inflicted heavy losses upon terrorists in ranks and equipment, as well as launched intensive operations against terrorists’ fortified positions and gatherings which led to establishing control over the road between Sheikh Miskeen and Ibta’a and the road leading to Nawa in Daraa countryside.

Syria, Iraq Discuss Cooperation on Terrorism Fighting

BAGHDAD, (ST)-Syria and Iraq are fighting in the same battle against the terrorism which is hitting the Syrian and Iraqi people under the guise of religion and with evident support by Arab and regional countries, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham said during his meeting on Monday with Iraq’s Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi.

Al-Lahham-Al-Abadi talks, held on the sideline of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) conference, dealt with ways of enhancing the Syrian-Iraqi ties and reactivating cooperation in all fields, especially combating terrorism.
