700 wanted persons and gunmen from Daraa surrender

DARAA,(ST)_Well over 700 wanted persons and gunmen from Daraa province have turned themselves in to the competent authorities for regularizing their situations in accordance with the national reconciliation process.

The official news agency (SANA) reported today that 250 wanted persons plus 450 gunmen turned themselves in and surrendered rockets, BKC guns, 332 rifles, sniper rifles and ammunitions to the competent authorities during an activity held in the presence of peoples and officials and reconciliation committees in Daraa province.   

Al-Mouallem meets Zarif, Ban Ki-moon

NEW YORK,(ST)_Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Mouallem has separately met his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and the United nations Secretary -General Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The talks between al-Mouallem and Zarif dealt with the situation in the region in general and in Syria in particular, according to the official news agency (SANA).

Russian warplanes, Syrian air forces hit terrorist targets in Aleppo, Idleb, Hama, Raqqa

PROVINCES,(ST)_Russian warplanes in cooperation with Syrian air forces have inflicted heavy losses upon terrorist organizations in Aleppo, Idleb and Hama, as Syrian army units continue to target terrorist organizations in Homs and Quneitra countryside.

According to a military source, Russian air forces in cooperation with Syrian ones carried out air strikes against ISIS targets in Dar Ezzeh area in Aleppo countryside and in Kafer Zetta town, about 35 km north of Hama city.

Terrorist admits Hamas has key role in training terrorist groups in Syria

A Palestinian-Jordanian terrorist affiliated to the Muslim brotherhood, has confessed that Hamas has played a key role in supporting terrorist groups fighting the Syrian Arab army units and it has sought to build up a base for the brotherhood group in Syria.

In an interview with the Syrian Television channel last night, the terrorist Besher Yousef Ali al-Janodi admitted that he participated in terrorist acts and in training terrorist groups in the Palestinian refugees camps and in other areas in Syria.

Vice President offers condolences on the death of Iranian Pilgrims

 

DAMASCUS - Vice President, Dr. Najah al-Attar, offered on Thursday condolences on the Iranian pilgrims who have passed away in the catastrophe of Mina, Mecca.

Al-Attar, in a press statement at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, expressed condolences for families of the pilgrims and the Iranian friendly people, hoping quick recovery for the wounded, SANA reported.

The meetings were held on the sidelines of the UN’s 70th General Assembly in New York, SANA reported.
