Saudi regime-linked terrorists kill person and wound 11 in mortar attacks on Damascus

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Terrorist organizations killed today one person and wounded over 11 others in mortar attacks on quarters of al-Amara, Mazra'a, Qassa'a, Bab Touma, Rekneddin and al-Tijara in Damascus.

Some mortar shells fell on the outskirts of the 'Omayya' School in al-Qassa'a quarter and on the 'Roshdi Barakat' school in Rekneddin quarter in the capital {Damascus], according to local social media.

Syrian army makes fresh progress inside Zabadani city, kills scores of al-Nusra Front terrorists in Lattakai

PROVINCES,(ST)_Syria army has recorded fresh progress in Zabadani city in the northwestern countryside of Damascus and has intensified operations against al-Nusra Front terrorists in Daraa province, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported today that army units in cooperation with the Lebanese resistance controlled more buildings inside the city of Zabadani a day after they controlled 20 buildings in the city and seized an arms cache contacting big quantity of RPG and mortars, some of them were made in Israel.

Terrorist mortar fire on Damascus central prison kills 3

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE,(ST)_Terrorist organizations fired mortar shells on the Damascus central prison in Damascus countryside, killing at least 3 persons and wounding  over 15 others on Saturday evening.

 A police command source declared that 2 mortar shells hit the prison which is located in Adra area.

On August 23, terrorists fired 5 mortar shells on the same prison, killing at least 12 persons and wounding over 56 others.

At least 11 persons hurt in terror attacks in Damascus

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Over 11 persons were wounded when mortar shells hit al-Qazzazin and Mazzeh quarter in Damascus, a police command source said Saturday.

The source clarified that terrorists fired a mortar shell on al-Qazzazin quarter in the heart of Damascus, wounding at least 11 persons and causing damage to several homes.

2 more shells landed in -Mazzeh quarter, leaving damage to homes without casualties.

The mortar shells were fired by terrorists holed up in Jobar quarter near Damascus.

Information minister slams Britain over “illogical and irrational” Syria policy


DAMASCUS - Information minister Omran al-Zoubi said Britain is pursuing an illogical and irrational policy by attacking the only country which is confronting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria organization, known as ISIS.

“What gives the British foreign secretary the right to decide for Syrians how long their president should stay in power?” al-Zoubi told the Guardian in an exclusive interview, in reference to earlier statements by the British official in which he said President Bashar al-Assad should step down.

Prime Minister says government is grappling with major challenges due to terrorism


DAMASCUS - Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi hailed the role of national media, side by side with the army and armed forces, in confronting war against Syria and the slander campaigns targeting it.

Speaking to a congregation of Syrian journalists, al-Zoubi said national media, by dint of its credibility and commitment to national principles, has managed to stand up to a massive media warfare by international outlets which lavished sizable sums to distort facts about the situation in Syria.
