Kazakh Foreign Ministry: The next round of Astana talks on Syria will be held late this month or early next month

Nour Sultan, ST - The next round of Astana talks on the crisis in Syria could be held in late November or early next month in Nur Sultan, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Ipek Smadiyarov said.

Smadiyarov explained to reporters today that talks are ongoing between the parties of the Astana process in order to determine the date of the next round of Astana meetings on Syria and we expect it to be in late November or early December.

Astana meetings began in the Kazakh capital since the beginning of 2017 and held thirteen meetings, one of them in the Russian city of Sochi and stressed the firm commitment to preserve the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria and to continue the war on terrorism until its final defeat.
