Damascus adopted necessary measures to confront the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Presidential Political and Media Advisor, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban told RT on Wednesday that Damascus has adopted necessary measures to confront the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories, affirming that the major forces that are being led now by the Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan to occupy parts of the Syrian land are Jabhat al-Nusra and Daesh.

She said that the Syrian army has reestablished control over some areas in the northeast of the country, reiterating that the army has confronted terrorism for more than 8 years and today it is confronting the Turkish invasion and it will expel all the invaders from the Syrian territory.

Answering a question on a possible confrontation between the Syrian and Turkish forces, Shaaban said everything is possible, affirming that the Kurdish groups have turned to Damascus to ask for the help of the Syrian government in confronting the Turkish aggression.

"From the very beginning it was Turkey, who allowed terrorists from all over the world to cross the border and fight this war against the Syrian people, Shaaban added.

Kurds are as an important component of the Syrian people

The presidential advisor made it clear that the Syrian government never stopped trying to urge some of the Kurdish groups and individuals to fight alongside the Syrian army. We differentiate between the Kurds as an important and dear component of the Syrian people and some Kurdish groups which cooperated with the US occupation.

She went on to say that Erdogan has lied time and time again, expressing  hope that one of the most important results of the Turkish aggression on Syria is that the world can discover Erdogan's evil role in the region and the world. Which is completely similar to Hitler's role in 1938, stressing that "Erdogan is the  Hitler of the 21st Century".

Syria won't accept replacing the American occupation with a Turkish one

Shaaban said that Syria is glad over the withdrawal of American forces from areas in the northeast of the country, but it will not accept replacing the American occupation with a Turkish one.

She pointed out that Syria's Russian ally wants to hold a Syrian-Turkish security meeting in the Russian city of Sochi to discuss the situation in Syia.

Commenting on the possibility of Syria's return to the Arab League, the presidential advisor said that what is more important from Syria's return is that the Arabs should feel that they are vulnerable and that they must find a strategic formula to unify their efforts because they are a big regional power.
