Deir Ezzor and Quneitra commemorate their liberation from terrorism

On the occasion of the victory over terrorism and the return of security and stability thanks to the Syrian Army, two popular celebrations were held in the cities of Deir Ezzor and Quneitra with presence of popular crowds who participated in civil activities.

In Deir Ezzor, a celebration entitled “Two Years of Breaking the Siege” was held on the occasion of the two-year breaking of the siege that lasted for more than three years. The celebration included photo exhibition, documentary film and a cultural forum on the years of siege and the subsequent achievements in the reconstruction phase.

A number of activities and service departments that have had their mark on the continuation of work during the siege period and beyond were honored during the celebration.

Head of the Radio and Television Center in Deir ez-Zor Musab Abu al-Aish pointed out that the photo exhibition included about 100 photos documenting the stages of the siege, the victory and the reconstruction of the city.

A number of participants expressed their pride in the victory of Deir Ezzor which was achieved thanks to the steadfastness of its locals and the Syrian Arab Army who broke the siege imposed by the terrorist organization ISIS, expressing their confidence that the Syrian entire territories will be cleared soon.

On September 5, 2017, SAA units were able to break the siege of Deir Ezzor, during which the terrorist organization committed the most heinous crimes against the city's residents, depriving them of water and food in addition to targeting them with ISIS shells which killed and wounded the hundreds.

On the one-year anniversary of defeating terrorism, Quneitra governorate witnessed popular activities in the archaeological Khan in the town of Khan Arnaba.

Participants in the celebration affirmed their support for the Syrian Arab Army in its war on terrorism until the elimination of terrorist organizations and the liberation of all Syrian territories, chanting patriotic songs.

The participants reiterated their absolute confidence in the Syrian Arab Army in confronting the plots and malicious schemes that target Syria “the axis of resistance” and the projects of normalization with the Zionist entity and surrendering to the hegemony forces.

Head of the Committee for the Support of Syrian Prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, the liberated prisoner Ali Younis pointed out that Quneitra triumphed over terrorism and that our army won over the Israeli occupation in the October liberation war in 1973.

In September last year, the province of Quneitra was declared free of terrorism thanks to the victories of the Syrian Arab Army which has returned to its positions before 2011.
