Shaaban Discusses Syria's Friendly Relations with Bolivia, Iran

BEIJING, (ST)- Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, the Presidential Political and Media Advisor, held a meeting with Bolivian Minister of Foreign Affairs Diego Pary Rodríguez on the sidelines of the international summit "One Belt One Road" in Beijing.  

The two sides stressed the importance of friendly relations between Syria and Bolivia and the two countries' struggle against hegemony and colonialism.

Rodriguez hailed the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism and the Syrian army's achievements in the fight against terrorists.

He also hailed the Chinese "Belt and Road" initiative which would change the situation of the world peoples and have positive impacts on their future.

 Dr. Shaaban also met with Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian. They two sides made it clear that most countries have become fed up with the western policies that aim to control the region's resources.

They stressed that the world should join efforts to find an alternative civilized humanitarian formula that respects the peoples of all countries and achieves their interests.

The Iranian minister highly commended  Syria's stance during the summit, criticizing the US policies which are based on the law of the jungles and on the principle of imposing sanctions and siege against the peoples of Syria and Iran in flagrant violation of international laws and conventions.

The three-day summit, "One Belt One Road"  was launched on April 25th in Beijing under the title "Policy Coordination" with the participation of 37 presidents and prime ministers as well as 150 ministers from all over the world.
