Al-Mikdad: Deep Syrian-Iranian Relations Important for Achieving Common Goals

DAMASCUS– Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad has stressed that the deep strategic relations between Syria and Iran are very important for achieving the common goals of the two countries and for supporting Arab and Islamic causes, mainly the Palestinian cause and the issue of backing the Palestinian people to restore their rights and establish their independent sate with al-Quds as a capital.

  Al-Mikdad made the remarks during his meeting on Sunday with an Iranian parliamentary delegation led by head of the Iran-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Iranian Parliament Amir Khojasteh.

Al-Mikdad, who hailed the strong relations between the Syrian People's Assembly and Iran's Shoura Council, renewed Syria's condemnation of US administration's recent decision to list Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

 On his part, Khojasteh congratulated the Syrian people and state on the victories achieved in the fight against the terrorism which is backed by the US administration and its tools in the region.

He voiced the support of the Iranian people and government for Syria in the war on foreign-backed terrorism.

The Iranian official stressed his country's condemnation of the US declaration on the occupied Syrian Golan, reiterating that "this dear part of Syria will forever be Syrian despite all aggressive attempts by Zionist circles". He also condemned the US administration's decision to recognize al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist entity.

He affirmed the Iranian Parliament's support for the Palestinian people's struggle to liberate their occupied lands and restore al-Quds as the capital of Palestine.
