US, UK Created, Funded So-Called "White Helmets" Organization to Use It in Serving Terrorist Groups in Syria

GENEVA, (ST)- The United States and Britain have created and funded the so-called "White Helmets" group to be used as an alleged "humanitarian arm" serving the terrorist organizations in Syria, mainly Jabhat al-Nusra, and as an agent on ground serving the intelligence bodies of the countries that created them, Syria's Permanent Representative at the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva Hussam Eddin Ala has underscored.

In a joint symposium held at the UN office in Geneva in cooperation between the permanent missions of Syria and Russia at the UN, Ala said that Washington and London have made the "White Helmets" a main tool in the disinformation campaign they launched against Syria and a source for fabrications and accusations relating to the alleged use of chemical weapons in terrorist-held areas.

During the symposium, titled "the Humanitarian Situation in Syria..Eyewitnesses Reports", Ala said that liberating the eastern neighborhoods of the Syrian city of Aleppo as well as the Eastern Ghouta area from the terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra and its affiliated terrorist groups has uncovered- by documents and information- the close connection between the White Helmets and the terrorist groups and has exposed the group's role in fabricating alleged incidents of using chemical weapons in different areas in Syria.

White Helmets activities are based on their masters' instructions

He added that the nature of the White Helmets work is based on instructions given to them by their masters not as a response to real information about incidents.

Ala went on to say that the countries operating the "White Helmets" have evacuated some 480 members of the group along with their families and transferred them to Jordan and sent to other countries across "Israel" after they finished their mission in serving terrorist groups. This move, Ala said, came to hide the group's involvement in fabricating many accusations against the Syrian government and several alleged incidents of using chemical weapons.

He made it clear that it is ironic that the countries operating the "White Helmets" didn't allow many of the group's members, who were smuggled from Syria, to enter their territories given their knowledge about the group's links to terrorist organizations.

Gatilov: "White Helmets" group continues to prepare chemical provocations

On his part, Gennady Gatilov, Russia's Permanent Representative at the United Nations in Geneva warned that the "White Helmets" continues to prepare new provocations with the use of chemical materials in the de-escalation zone in Idleb, aiming to accuse the Syrian government of using chemical weapons against civilians and to prevent a possible military operation to expel the terrorists from Idleb. Gatilov noted the importance and seriousness of these information.

He said that tens of "White Helmets" members, evacuated from Syria, are still in Jordan, because the western countries have not decided yet where to move these persons, given their fear of possible terrorist attacks if they received them.
