Israel's Supporters Preventing Security Council from Playing Its Role in Halting Israeli Attacks on Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Minsitry of Foreign Affaris and Expatriates on Monday sent two letters to the UN Chief and President of the Security Council dealing with the repeated Israeli attacks on the Syrian territories, the latest of which was launched today's dawn in a flagrant violation of the Security Council Resolutions.

The cowardly Israeli aggression on the Syrian territories comes within the framework of the Israeli enemy's bids to prolong the crisis and the terrorist war in Syria and to raise the morale of the remaining terrorists in the country, said the ministry in its letters.

The aggression is also a bid by the Israeli government to escape its escalating internal problems, the ministry added, reiterating that all the Israeli attacks have failed to frighten the Syrian people, rather they strengthened their determination to achieve their inevitable victory over terrorism and to restore the occupied Syrian Golan to the line of June 4th 1967.

The ministry affimred that Israel has increasingly adopted state terrorism policy after its attacks and conspiracy against Syria since the beginning of the crisis had failed to prevent the Syrian Arab army and its allies from defeating Daesh, Jabhat al-Nusra and the rest of terrorist groups which are partners of the Israeli occupation authorities in terrorism.

The ministry stressed that Israel couldn't continue its dangerous aggressive policies towards Syria without the limitless support of the US administration, without the immunity against accountability provided to Israel by some Security Council member countries and without the deadly silence imposed by these countries on the Security Council to prevent it from assuming its responsibilities in putting an end to such criminal acts.

The ministry concluded the letters by saying that Syria urges the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in preserving international peace and security and adopt decisive and deterrent action to prevent Israel from repeating such attacks. Syria also calls on the Security Council to force Israel to respect and implement the Council's resolutios relating to the agreement on the disengagement of forces and to punish Israel for its terrorism and crimes being committed against the Syrian and Palestinian peoples and for its incessant support for terrorist organizations in Syria, the ministry added.
