Syria, Brazil Discuss Health Cooperation

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria and Brazil have discussed means of cooperation as to ensure quality medicine , mainly for chronic disease and cancer.

Health Minister Nizar Yazigi during his meeting on Sunday with a delegation representing the Brazilian-Arab Chamber of Commerce, expressed the ministry’s readiness to sign an agreement on medicines exchange and to activate the memorandum signed with the Syrian-Lebanese hospital in Sao Paulo on training medical cadres in the areas of lever transplant and managing cancer diseases.  

 The minister hoped that the coming era will witness notable health, trade and industrial cooperation between Brazil and Syria.

On his part, head of the Brazilian-Arab Chamber of Commerce said the delegation’s visit aimed at expanding the already strong relations between the two countries and at stressing that Brazil will be a partner in Syria’s prosperity era and in the development of its economy and production process.
