Ammunition, weapons, some of them western-made, seized in Hama Countryside

Hama - The competent authorities on Friday, while canvassing Aqrab town, some 32 km south-west of Hama city, found a den of terrorists’ remnants containing large quantities of ammunition and various weapons.

SANA said that the seized weapons included a PKS machine gun, a number of rifles, large quantities of ammunition, a western-made Steyr sniper rifle and telescopes mounted on automatic rifles and others.

SANA added that engineering units continue canvassing the town of Aqrab and its surroundings to completely secure it and preserve the lives of civilians when they return to their homes and farmlands.

On May 16, the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced that the armed forces restored  security and stability to 65 towns and villages in Homs northern and Hama southern countryside which were controlled by terrorist organizations. The terrorists were forced to exit the area after turning over their heavy and medium weapons.
