Majority of Czech People Back Keeping Their Country's Embassy in Syria Opened

PRAGUE, (ST)- A recent Opinion Poll in the Czech Republic has showed that 56% of the Czech people are supporting the idea of keeping their country's embassy in Syria opened as to maintain contacts with the Syrian government.

According to the poll, which was conducted by the Czech Public Opinion Research Center, more than half of the Czech people expressed their support for their country's contribution to efforts aiming at finding political solution of the crisis in Syria. 60% of participants backed the continuity of sending humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, the poll showed.

 The result of the poll revealed an increase in the number of the Czech citizens who believe that events in Syria have consequences on the security of the Czech republic and on Europe's security in general.
