The Palestinian Presidency: Rejection of the plan to establish 2540 settlement units in Jerusalem

On April 8th, the Palestinian Presidency affirmed its rejection of the Israeli occupation plan to establish more than 2500 settlement units in occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Presidency stressed that it is a flagrant violation of all international legitimacy resolutions.

“The Israeli occupation's announcement of the establishment of 2540 settlement units in the occupied city of Jerusalem violates all international legitimacy decisions, especially Resolution 2334, which affirms the illegality of settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories,” Ma'an News Agency quoted Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh as saying.

Abu Rudeineh called on the international community and the International Criminal Court to put pressure on Israel to stop its crimes and settlement plans, and to take practical steps to hold its officials accountable.

On April 7th, the Israeli occupation authorities announced a new settlement plan to establish more than 2,500 settlement units in occupied Jerusalem.
