Two Young Syrian Ladies to Take Part in JCI ‘s Ten Outstanding Young Persons competition in Japan

Syrian youths seek to develop and enhance their presence in different domains most notable of which are creativity and invention.

The two young women , Dr. Wissam Zam and Alaa  Al-Tarsha will  participate in the Ten Outstanding Young Persons ( TOYP) competition due to be held in Japan after they   have  won  the competition organized in Homs  by  Junior Chamber International ( JCI ) at the national level for the year 2020.

Vice  president of JCI in Homs Safwat Kabbar  indicated that the TOYP competition  around the world has been  one of the official programs of JCI   since 1983.

 

He made it clear that   the local chambers of JCI   nominate distinguished persons  in several domains to compete at the national level and  then to be nominated to the world  competition .

The young Dr. Zam , who holds a PHD in food sciences,    is a winner of the  achievement category of academic leadership  at the national level within the TOYP of    2020 JCI  competition  

She  indicated  that she published about 40 scientific articles including  research  and literary reviews .They were published in the most prestigious international magazines  specialized in the pharmaceutical medical field..

Dr. Zam  is currently working as an editor  in a number of  Arab and foreign   scientific magazines  in which she   published important medical and chemical researches on natural plants and seaweeds.  

On  her part, Alaa Al-Tarsha,  is a  winner of the  achievement category   of the  business sector competition  at the national level and holds a master  degree in business administration.

Al-Tarsha , who is a volunteer in several humanitarian projects, said that she founded a small kindergarten    in Homs, which expanded to include the first stage  of basic education. 

Al-Tarsha highlighted that  the  JCI world  competition motivates young people to  develop their skills and  work in various fields with the aim of realizing  qualitative achievements which play a positive and key role in the development process in society..
