Celebration in Kiev to mark Syrian army's Day

The Syrian Community in Ukraine has held a celebration to mark the 71st anniversary of the Syrian Arab army's foundation.

The celebration held Sunday in Kiev began with standing a minute of silence for the Syrian soldiers martyred in Syria.

Then several speeches were delivered by a member of the Syrian community, the first Secretary in the Syrian Embassy in Kiev, the Head of the Board of Directors of the community and the Head of the Syrian-Ukrainian Friendship Association.

The speakers highly appreciated sacrifices of Syrian soldiers and people for defending the homeland, stressing that the Syrian army has been engaged in fierce war against terrorist organizations, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency added that the Palestinian artist Mr. Jamal Badwan presented a painting entitled 'Aleppo Citadel’ to the Syrian Embassy on the occasion of the Syrian Arab army's victories against terrorists in Aleppo province.

Aleppo province is witnessing today the fiercest clashes between Syrian army units and foreign-backed terrorist organizations.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged against Syria to weaken its army and to destroy its civilization and infrastructures in accordance with a US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the Middle East Region and to have hegemony over its wealth.

Tens of thousands of terrorists came from more than 100 countries to fight against the Syrian army. They have been entered through Turkish, Jordanian, Lebanese and Iraqi borders with the support of some regional and international powers.
