Lattakia Education Director to ST: Terrorist War on Syria Blocked Quality Education in the Country

LATTAKIA- The big challenges and difficulties produced by the seven-year terrorist war on Syria, particularly in the education domain, necessitated an urgent response by the Syrian government to make major infrastructure adjustment to absorb the growing number of students who left schools because of terrorism in several provinces.

Shedding light on the education situation in Lattakia province under the ongoing crisis, the Syriatimes e-newspaper interviewed Mr. Omran Abo Khalil, Director of Education there.

"Education is the key to Syria's future. The ongoing crisis in Syria has affected all walks of life in the country and caused damage to all sectors, particularly education," Mr. Abo Khalil said, asserting that the terrorist war waged on Syria has been a major barrier to quality education for all in the country.

Two days ago, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Lewaa Iskenderun- Syrian Resistance published a video message on its Facebook page about the determination of Idlib province’s residents to fight Turkish troops that illegitimately entered the province accompanied by al-Nusra Front terrorists.

The illegal incursion of Turkish troops into Idlib province few days ago comes within the barbaric and expansionist mentality of the Turkish regime’s head Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to the leader of Popular Front for the Liberation of Lewaa Iskenderun- Syrian Resistance Ali Kayyali, who told us in an interview via Facebook messenger that Ottoman sultanate - just like Israel [Zionist entity]-cannot live without enemy and wars.

Undoubtedly, the 79-month-old terror war on Syria , which coincided with unjust economic blockade imposed by western and regional countries on Syrian people, has led to a difficult humanitarian situation and produced big challenges that faced meeting the needs of affected persons in the country.

The humanitarian situation was very difficult at the first years of the war, but it improved later as a result of victories being achieved by the Syrian Arab army and allied forces, the launch of the projects of rebuilding liberated areas and the fruitful outcomes of the programs of empowering affected persons nationwide, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Rema Qadri said.
