Syria, China Discuss Boosting Construction Cooperation

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Minister of Public Works and Housing Hussein Arnous discussed here on Tuesday with a delegation from the Chinese company "S.E.N.Y" prospects of cooperation in the fields of the ministry's work.             

After presenting an overview of the work of the ministry and its construction companies responsible for the largest part of infrastructure and important state projects, Mr. Arnous stressed that the areas of cooperation with Syria in the reconstruction phase are open to the friendly countries that stood with the Syrian people during the years of the unjust war against Syria.

Syria Takes Part in the International Tourism Exhibition in Madrid

Madrid, (ST) -Syria took part in the 38th International Tourism Exhibition held recently in Madrid with the participation of more than 10,000 tourism companies and offices from 165 provinces and countries.

The head of the tourism delegation and director of marketing and tourism promotion at the Ministry of Tourism, Bassam Barsik, explained to a group of Spanish people who came to the Syrian pavilion congratulating Syria on victory over terrorism and its participation in the international celebrations. Syria, in cooperation with its friends, has been able to restore and reconstruct a large number of tourist attractions, he added.

Syria and Russia Discuss ICT Cooperation

DAMASCUS- Various technology and communication issues and means of having an optimal investment of them were discussed Thursday by Syria and Russia.

During a meeting between Prime Minister Imad Khamis and the Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov and the accompanying delegation, the two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation in the fields of information and communication technology (ICT) and the digital economy, according to SANA.

He said that Syria managed to preserve the information structure of the state despite the siege and terrorism, adding that it is paying increasing attention to develop ICT system as it represents the main artery for developing the institutions of government.

Conference on National Project for Administrative Reform kicks off

Damascus – Activities of conference entitled “National Project for Administrative Reform… Success Factors in Syria in post-war stage” kicked off at Damascus University Auditorium on Saturday evening with the participation of an elite of experts.

The two-day conference, organized by the Syrian-British Society headed by Dr. Fawaz al-Akhras, discusses the objectives of the National Project for Administrative Reform launched by President Bashar al-Assad, success factors including human resources, expertise and skills and the role of this project in improving the performance of financial and juridical apparatus, SANA reported.

Other topics that will be tackled include the role of information technology in implementing the project, means of reforming administrative cadres, preserving the cultural identity of the Syrian society and achieving social justice and employment standards in addition to several issues related to the needs of Syrian people.

Two dialogue sessions of the first day focused on the importance of this national project as an ambitious plan to improve state-owned institutions and reconstruct them in a way that contributes to further upgrade their services and productivity.

Speakers underlined the significance of investment in human resources as a key factor to push forward the administrative development process, in addition to identifying of problems and challenges to find appropriate solutions.

Syria, Malaysia to Boost Cooperation Relations

 Damascus,(ST) – The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Dr. Abdullah Al-Gharbi received here the Director General of the Malaysian company "Renxes Waidah", Berry Boah, and the accompanying economic and industrial delegation. The two sides discussed means of developing and strengthening cooperation relations and the possibility of establishing industrial projects in Syria.

 The two sides agreed that specialists in the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection will submit a study to the Malaysian side, including the estimated quantities of cereal crops in Syria, to be considered in the construction of silos in Aleppo, Lattakia, Tartous and Sweida governorates.
