Syria, Cuba hold talks on enhancing economic cooperation

Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Idris Mayya and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba Ana Teresita Gonzalez discussed enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting at the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment in Havana, Gonzalez affirmed her country’s support for Syria in all domains, stressing the importance of boosting bilateral economic relations to the highest level.

On his part, Mayya explained the economic situation in Syria and the difficulties facing the country due to the coercive economic measures and blockade imposed by the United States and European countries and due to the war that has been waged against Syria for more than ten years.

He reiterated that Syria will press ahead with its battle against terrorism until it completely eliminates the terrorists and restores security and stability countrywide.
