“Reconstructing Syria 2021” exhibition is an opportunity to exchange experiences

The exhibition of “Reconstruction of Syria 2021”, whose activities were launched on the Fairgrounds in Damascus last Wednesday, brought together a group of specialists and experts in the field of building materials industry and services at the local, regional and international levels.

A number of representatives of companies participating in the exhibition considered that it presented qualitative and advanced models of mechanisms, equipment and reconstruction requirements available in the internal and external markets and opened the door for communication to reactivate partnerships between various government and private institutions, as well as forging new partnerships.

From the Belarusian pavilion, director of the Belarusian Exhibitions Foundation, Yevgeny Vedensky, said that 6 Belarusian companies specialized in the manufacture of cars, engines, tractors, agricultural products, control devices and control of railways are participating in the exhibition. He noted that  a number of participating companies that were previously present in the Syrian market, including tractor manufacturing companies,  are seeking today to come back and introduce more advanced modifications to their products.


Vedensky indicated that the Belarusian delegation held a number of meetings with members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Syria and discussed a number of partnerships in the field of construction and the supply of necessary mechanisms in the reconstruction phase.

Regarding Indonesia's participation,  the Indonesian Ambassador to Syria, Wajid Fawzi, noted that three companies specialized in construction and railways display the latest technologies and equipment during the exhibition, expressing his hope that the participation will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

Director of the Military Housing Corporation’s pavilion in the exhibition Mohy El-Din Deeb said that the exhibition aimed at introducing a number of the corporation’s work areas, highlighting the corporation’s extensive experience and its specialized professional and scientific cadres. He noted that despite the destruction of its facilities due to terrorism, the Corporation reconstructed and put them in service again.

For his part, Eng. Ayman Mutlaq, Director General of the General Authority for Real Estate Development and Investment, stressed the importance of participation in promoting real estate development in Syria as the authority is regulating the work of the private sector in the field of real estate development.

Engineer Muhammad Khair Abdel Haq, Director of Planning and International Cooperation in the General Company for Building and Reconstruction, stated that the company presents the most prominent projects it implements in the field of construction, noting that  the exhibition is a message to the world about the start of the reconstruction phase of Syria and introducing companies, capabilities and local expertise and opening the field of cooperation with other companies.

Director General of the Public Housing Corporation Eng. Mazen Al-Lahham, pointed out that the Corporation presents a number of projects it is implementing in terms of the housing plan, reconstruction projects and modern technologies used in these projects. He noted that the exhibition is also an opportunity to present the investment opportunities available between local or foreign companies, including the establishment of residential suburbs.

It is worth mentioning that 190 local, Arab and foreign construction companies are participating in the exhibition, which is organized by Al-Bashiq Foundation for Trade and Exhibitions.
