Pumping tests conducted for the water network of the liberated town of Khan Sheikhoun

The General Establishment of Water in Idlib said that it has started the pumping tests for the water network of the liberated town of Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib southern countryside in preparation for starting the permanent and regular pumping so as to ensure water for the displaced citizens who returned to their areas after the Syrian army had liberated them from terrorism.

The pumping tests were conducted after the damage, caused to the water network by terrorist attacks, was fixed, according to Director of the Establishment Mohammad Ajami. He said that this process would detect any malfunctions or leaks in the water lines so that they can be fully repaired and rehabilitated in preparation for pumping water into the Khan Sheikhoun network regularly within a maximum period of one month.

Locals in Khan Sheikhoun hailed the process of resuming water pumping into the main network in Khan Sheikhoun as a great project that will provide major services to returnees and encourage other displaced citizens to return to their original residence places, restore their normal life and go ahead with their commercial and economic activities again.

The town of Khan Sheikhoun, which was liberated by the Syrian Arab Army in August 2019, has witnessed the return of many locals to their houses after they were forcibly displaced for years due to the terrorist organizations that committed crimes against civilians, looted their properties and destroyed the service facilities and infrastructure in the town.
