Syria Participates in Algiers International Exhibition

Algeria- With the participation of Syria, the 51st Algiers International Exhibition opened on Wednesday at the Palace of Fairs in Algiers.

Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed O Yahya visited the Syrian pavilion accompanied by a number of ministers of the Algerian government and members of the diplomatic corps and heard an explanation from the Minister in Charge of the Syrian Embassy, Dr. Afif Hamdan, about Syrian participation in the exhibition.

Mr. Hamdan said in a statement to SANA correspondent that the participation of Syria proves the vitality and activity of the Syrian economy despite the difficult situation, pointing to the state recovery in the various sectors of economy.

For her part, the Director of Promotion for Supporting and Development of Domestic, Industrial Production and exports Association at the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, Malak Bagh, said that Syria's participation in the exhibition is an evidence that the Syrian producer is still active and able to compete in the Arab and foreign markets.

Mrs. Bagh explained that the Association participates in the organization of the Syrian pavilion in cooperation with the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Markets, noting that some 14 companies are participate in the current session in addition to the General Federation of Craftsmen, which participates in its products that reflect the Syrian heritage and the quality of the Syrian product.

The Algiers International Fair will continue until May 13 with the participation of more than 700 Algerian, Arab and foreign parties. China will also participate as a guest of honor at this session, represented by 58 pavilions.
