Creating a MaritimeLine between Syria and Sudan Discussed

Damascus,(ST) – The Minister of Industry Ahmed Al-Hamo discussed here with Sudanese Ambassador in Damascus Khalid Ahmed Mohamed Ali mechanisms to benefit from the economic possibilities available in the two countries to enter into joint industrial projects and reciprocating and activating the work of the Joint Committee for Industrial Cooperation, which will benefit the economists and peoples of the two brotherly countries.

 Mr. Al-Hamo pointed to the possibility of benefiting from the existence of agricultural energies and large raw materials in Sudan, where Syrian industrialists with great expertise and potential can establish industrial facilities in Syria based on these materials or establish facilities in Sudan either for processing and exporting to Syria, In the field of leather and textile, which establishes the basis for the launch of industrial cooperation between the two countries and achieve high added value to the products of both countries and export.

He pointed out the importance of working to find the appropriate ways to create a maritime line between Syria and Sudan to transport manufactured and primary materials in both directions, thus enhancing the opportunities for commercial and industrial cooperation and facilitates the transfer of industrial and agricultural products to benefit the economists of Syria and Sudan.

For his part, the Sudanese ambassador noted the great industrial expertise available in Syria, calling on the Syrian industrialists and investors to explore the investment opportunities available in Sudan and to set up industrial, investment and commercial projects, especially with an encouraging legal environment for investment that enhances economic cooperation opportunities.

The Sudanese ambassador welcomes any Syrian government delegation aimed at reviving economic relations between the two countries.
