Russia committed to its pledges on solving the crisis in Syria: Zakharova

MOSCOW, (ST)- Russia has renewed commitment to its pledges regarding the settlement of the crisis in Syria within the framework of Astana talks and Sochi agreement on Syria.

In a statement to journalists on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to President of the Turkish regime Recepe Tayyib Erdogan's claims that Russia hasn't implemented its pledges pursuant to Astana and Sochi agreement by saying "we are committed to our pledges".

Regarding the so-called "Deal of the Century" announced by US President Donald Trump, Zakharova said that finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is up to the Palestinians and the Israelis only.

She expressed Russia's willingness to work constructively within the framework of the joint efforts that aim at finding a comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Russian political experts say "Deal of the Century" is unjust and harmful to the Palestinians

 MOSCOW, (ST)-  Andrei Baklanov, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Russian Diplomats, Assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council has stressed that the so-called "Deal of the Century" is unjust and harmful to the Palestinians.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, Baklanov stressed that this plan won't succeed because it has negative aspects that don't provide even the principles of any just and comprehensive settlement for the conflict in the region.

On his part, Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts, Russian Peoples' Friendship University (PFUR) Dmitry Egorchenkov said the announced plan, called "Deal of the Century" is full of contradictions, particularly regarding the situation of occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The Syrian state has the right to eliminate terrorism from its territories, say Turkish politician

Ankara, (ST) - Aran Erdam, member of the Central Committee of the Turkish Republican People's Party, stressed that the Syrian state has the right to eliminate terrorists from its territories and restore security and stability to all its regions.

In an interview with Channel 1 TV, Ardam denounced the reaction of the Turkish regime's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and some officials in his regime to the victories that the Syrian Arab Army achieved against the terrorist organizations in Idlib.  He said "What is Turkey’s relationship to Idlib and why does Ankara object to the Syrian army’s liberation of Syrian cities, towns and villages? Terrorists have been occupying it for years. ”

Al-Jaafari calls for lifting coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people

New York, (ST) - Syria’s permanent representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, called for lifting the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people immediately and putting an end to the economic punitive policies adopted by some countries. He stressed at the same time that despite the pressures that the Syrian people are being subjected to, Syria will not abandon its  sovereignty and Syrians will not allow prejudice to affect their national options.
Al-Jaafari said at a UN Security council session on Wednesday that the economic terrorism, practiced by some western states on Syria, is a complementary to the terrorism of organizations included in the list of Security Council of terrorist entities.

Syria condemns 'deal of the century'

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Syria has affirmed its rejection of the so-called the 'Deal of the Century' that represents surrender to the Israeli occupation forces.

It also asserted that it stands by the just fight of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate rights, according to a source at the Ministry of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs.
