Syria, Iran Discuss Means of Confronting US Unilateral Coercive Measures

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem and Special Assistant of the Speaker of Iran’s Shura Council for Political Affairs Hussein Amir Abdollahian have discussed developments in the region and means of confronting the challenges facing the two countries mainly the siege and the economic terrorism represented by the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the US and its allies on the peoples of the two countries to serve Israel's interests.

During their meeting in Damascus on Monday, al-Moallem and Abdollahian talked about the strategic relations between the two countries and about high level consultation and coordination.

Al-Moallem expressed Syria's appreciation over Iran's support for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and for the steadfastness of the Syrian people. He thanked the Iranian leadership and people for supporting Syria's war on terrorism, stressing that the victories achieved in Syria are victories for Syria and its allies.  

Syria Takes part in Parliamentary Forum at the 2019 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development

NEW YORK, (ST)- A delegation from the Syrian People's Assembly (PA) is taking part in the Parliamentary Forum at the 2019 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), which kicked off its deliberations on 13 of July and will last till July 18th at the UN headquarters in New York.

The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) is the United Nations hub for the global review of progress toward the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The main theme of the 2019 session, held under the aegis of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), is “Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”. While assessing overall progress toward the SDGs.

The forum is held at the invitation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Gas pipeline feeding Ebla Factory goes out of service due to a terrorist attack

HOMS, (ST)_ The gas pipeline linking al-Shaer gas field and Ebla Gas Factory in the eastern countryside of Homs went out of service due to a terror attack.

The Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported today that “Terrorists had vandalized the gas pipeline which extends from al-Shaer field to Ebla Gas Factory as the pipeline went out of service.”

Weapons and ammunition seized in Homs

HOMS, (ST)_ Homs Criminal Security Branch has seized weapons, ammunition and cars without plates inside a house in a village in Homs province.

A source at Homs Police Command was quoted on the Syrian News Agency (SANA) as saying that a patrol of Homs Criminal Security Branch discovered weapons , ammunition , and three cars without plates inside a house in a village in Homs.

Turkish-backed terrorists kill 6 civilians, wound 9 others in Aleppo city by rocket attack

ALEPPO, (ST)_At least 6 civilians were martyred and 9 others wounded by terror rocket attack on the Municipal Palace and on districts of Halab al-Jadedeh and Menyan in Aleppo city, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).

The agency made it clear that the rockets were fired by terrorist groups holed up in the western countryside of the province, killing 6 civilians and wounding 9 others, including a girl.
