Elimination of Terrorism in Syria, Refugees' Return, Lifting Sanctions Only Way to Solve Crisis in Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The elimination of terrorism in Syria, the withdrawal of foreign forces illegally present in the country, the return of the displaced Syrians home, respecting Syria's national sovereignty, encouraging reconstruction in the country are the only way to resolve the crisis in Syria, according to the Syrian-Russian Joint Coordination Commissions for the Return of the Displaced Syrians.

Following their periodical meeting on Wednesday in Damascus, the commissions stressed in a statement that Washington and its allies continue to hinder the return of the Syrians, who were displaced from their areas because of terrorism, to their homeland from neighboring countries

Illegal presence of US forces in Syria is the main reason for instability

The statement reiterated that "the illegal presence of American forces on the Syrian land is the main reason for instability in the areas these forces occupy. It welcomed "the efforts exerted to set a plan in cooperation with representatives of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) to evacuate the displaced people from the Rukban Camp."

The statement clarified that the Syrian state in cooperation with the SARC has finished all the organizational procedures necessary to ensure a decent welcome for the returnees from Rukban camp.

According to the statement, the number of displaced Syrians who returned home across the Jordanian-Syrian borders is increasing continuously thanks to the joint efforts of the two coordination commissions. This indicates the effectiveness of the procedures adopted by the Syrian state to enhance peaceful life in the country.

Sanctions should be lifted

The two commissions expressed deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in al-Rukban and al-Hawl camps in the areas occupied by the United States, noting the existence of terrorists' families in camp, the matter that ensures a fertile environment for the spread of the terrorist mentality of Daesh terror organization among people in the camp.

The two commissions called for lifting the unilateral western sanctions imposed on Syria and which hinder the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to Syrians and create a fuel crisis in the country.
