Cooperation between Syria, Iran, Russia and Lebanese Resistance Led to Notable Achievements in Anti-Terror Fight

DAMASCUS- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hadiyeh Abbas has stressed that cooperation and coordination between Syria, Iran, Russia, and the Lebanese  Resistance has resulted in notable achievement in the fight against terrorism.

She made the remarks during her meeting on Wednesday with an Iranian delegation led by Assistant Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council for International Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullahian. Talks during the meeting focused on enhancing parliamentary ties in the service of the common causes of the two countries.

Abbas Highly appreciated Iran's support for the Syrian people and leadership in the face of  the crisis and the ongoing terrorist war. 

"The Syrians won't t forget the Iranian support," Abbas stressed.

 The Speaker went on to say that cooperation and coordination between Syria, Iran, Russia and the Lebanese resistance have resulted in great achievements with regard to fighting terrorism that has become a serious threat to the region and the entire world.

During the meeting, Abdullahian conveyed to Abbas the invitation of Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to take part in the international conference on "Supporting the Palestinian People’s Intifada" due to be held in Tehran next month.

Abdullahian, on his part, affirmed that Iran and Syria are in the same trench against terrorism, reiterating his country’s full readiness to continue providing all assistance to the Syrian people to help them withstand the crisis.

The Iranian official said that the future of the region will be drawn up according to developments in Syria, particularly after the legendary steadfastness of the Syrian people, army and leadership and after Syria's achievements in the fight against terrorism and its supporters.  

He hailed the Syrian political leadership's awareness and wisdom, saying that the Syrian state, led by President Bashar Al-Assad, won't miss the compass and it is political action and international work go in the best way.

"Syria ranks at the top as regards the countries that back the Palestinian people in the face of the Zionist crimes and arrogance," Abdullahian said, asserting the need to mobilize all potentials and efforts in support of the Palestinian cause.

In a statement to reporters following the meeting, Abdullahian said that the key message of the Astana meeting on Syria indicated that the terrorists have become desperate and are no more able to continue in the same path and that the best way to find a solution to the crisis in Syria is the constructive intra-Syrian dialogue.
