Syrian-American "Love and Peace" Forum Convened

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA,(ST)_ The Syrian-American Forum held today, Sunday a public symposium entitled " love and peace " in Los Angeles city, California, USA with the participation of Syria's Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari and from Damascus via Skype, by Syria 's Grand Mufti Dr. Ahmed Badr al-Din Hassoun, and Archbishop Luke -Khoury Vicar General of the Greek Catholics in Syria.

In a statement to SANA on the sidelines of the seminar, Dr. Bashar Jaafari said that  "the event was marked by high national performance that boosted the morale of the Syrian community, " highlighting the participation of the Grand Mufti and the Archbishop.

 In a message he addressed to the Syrian people, Jaafari said :" we are all waging the same struggle against our common enemies against those who want Syria hurt and destroyed.. we are united and have faith on that dialogue is the way to resolve the crisis in Syria and rebuilt it by Syrian hands"
" I'm optimistic of what next year will carry for Syria, we are in the last quarter of the hour of the crisis. We are in a good position at the UN and capitals of the major countries in coincidence with the Syrian Army force on the ground, the power of the Syrian state wise leadership, " he emphasized.

As for  his message to the Syrian national media Jaafari said.. "The media people were in the same defense line with the brave Syrian army in the fight against terrorism, " adding that the first year of the war against Syria witnessed a fierce media battle, but failed despite mobilizing all means and possibilities to tarnish the image of the Syrian government and the Syrian state because of the awareness of the people and the good performance of the Syrian media."

For his part,, head of the Forum branch in California Ali al-Rayyes  said that "this activity is part of a series of activities held by the Forum to unify the Syrian community in rejecting the US position in interfering in Syria in all forms."
Rayyes stressed that the Syrian community called for halting all forms of foreign interference so that the Syrian people will achieve national reconciliation on the ground of the unity of Syria 's land and people and preserving the identity of coexistence, tolerance and love among all spectrums of the Syrian people.

He said that the seminar was attended by more than 600 members of the Syrian community, adding that the participants in the seminar announced the establishment of a new branch for the Forum in Los Angeles, California, with the encouragement of some members of the community and Americans so as the Forum will form in most U.S. states a national fabric featuring all spectrums of the Syrian society.
Worthy mentioning that the Syrian American Forum will once again hold a seminar in the same context tomorrow, Monday in Michigan.
