International Education Exhibition kicks off in Damascus

Over 60 universities, institutes and learning, teaching, scientific, training and language centers are taking part in the International Education Exhibition kicked off Tuesday in the 'Dama Rose' Hotel in Damascus.

The three-day exhibition is being held under the title ' learn today…. lead tomorrow' and it includes several symposiums and lectures of strategic goals that aim to build the future of Syria, according to the official news agency (SANA).

National, traditional songs performed in Aramaic language in Maaloula town

In the language of Jesus Christ, about 70 children and 30 youngsters performed national and traditional songs during a concert held Sunday by the Syrian Institute for Protecting Aramaic language (Aramea) in the ancient town of Maaloula in Damascus countryside.

The concert was held in the said town because its people are still using the Aramaic languages a living language, Director of Cultural Activities in the institute Ibrahim al-Shaer told the official news agency (SANA).

He underlined the need to protect the Aramaic language which dates back to thousands of years.

75 Arab artists participated in "peace candles' exhibition in Damascus

About 100 paintings by 75 Arab artists depicting wishes for restoration of peace and stability to the Arab world have been featured in the exhibitions recently held in the Damascus Opera House under the title 'peace candles'.

The artists used several symbols such as white pigeon, olive branch, sunlight and Jasmine to express their wishes for the restoration of peace to all Arab countries, including Syria, according to the official news agency (SANA).

Culture Minister says Syria's visual arts sum up its civilization

Minister of Culture Mohammad al-Ahmad has declared that Syria's visual arts sum up its history and civilization.

His remark was made during the opening ceremony of the exhibition held yesterday in the 'al-Sha'eb' Gallery in Damascus within the activities of the 5th oil painting forum kicked off last Wednesday in the Citadel of Damascus under the title “Syria is the bridge of love".

NUSS holds photo exhibition on the occasion of Syrian army Day

The National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) has held a photography exhibition at Damascus University on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Syrian Arab army's foundation.

The exhibition opened yesterday includes 400 photos documenting popular celebrations held after the Syrian Arab army's victories over terrorist organizations in the country, the history of the Syrian army and local reports about the national army, according to the official news agency (SANA).
