Photography exhibition for Novosti correspondent in Damascus depicts Syrian Army's victories in battles against terrorism

A collection of photographs, taken by Russian photographer Michael Alauddin, Head of the Russian Novosti News Agency Office in Damascus, has documented the victories of the Syrian Arab Army over terrorism in addition to the Syrian citizens’ life under the war.

The Russian correspondent’s photographs were displayed within an exhibition held on Sunday at the Abu Rumaneh Cultural Center in Damascus under the title “Syria From War to Peace”.

The exhibition was also held by the Russian Cultural Center. It included dozens of photography works with different topics. The works depicted the victories of the Syrian Army in the battles against terrorist groups, the destruction inflicted, because of terrorism, upon archeological buildings, churches and mosques and the various aspects of social life in Syria.

Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus Nikolay Sukhov said in a statement to SANA that these photographs show the victories of the Syrian Arab Army in Aleppo, Palmyra, Yarmouk Camp, Qalamoun and other areas and feature the state of security that prevailed in the country after these victories. The aim is to document this important experience which Syria has passed through and to highlight Syria’s role in fighting terrorism, he added.

Director of Damascus Culture Waseem Mbeyyed affirmed the importance of cultural exchange between Syria and Russia, particularly in the field of resisting and confronting terrorism.
