Trump's ominous declaration

The US administration’s decision to recognize occupied Jerusalem as capital of the Israeli occupation entity and to move its embassy to it constitutes a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the resolutions of the international legitimacy, a desecration of the national and historical rights of the Palestinian people, and a clear attempt to liquidate the Palestinian Cause.

This decision will not change the truth that occupied Jerusalem is an Arab Palestinian city and it is one of the inalienable rights of the Arab Palestinian People which couldn’t be tampered with by any state, whatever the military power it possesses, as it is the case with regard to every inch of the Palestinian lands. The US administration should be aware that the rights, which the peoples have acquired through their cultural eligibility, couldn’t be dropped by improvisational decisions which do not realize the truth of the conflict taking place in the region. This measure will constitute a new cover by the US administration to the Israeli entity to go far in violating the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and continue displacing them and depriving them of their right in establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. This decision is worthless because history is not made by people who are in a state of confusion, but it is made by the loyal ones and those who have a cause, and Trump is not one of them.

This decision  came after consent of some reactionary Arab states which have been claiming throughout their history that they are keen on the Palestinian Cause.  What happened uncovers the depth of the Arab hypocrisy over fifty years and the results of the agreements of humiliation and shame signed with the Israeli occupation entity from Sinai II Agreement to Camp David Accords to Wadi Araba agreement and Oslo Agreement which make us rethink of rereading and rewriting our history again in a transparent and honest way.

The policy of appeasement has proved its ineffectiveness and all deliberations regarding Jerusalem whether at Jerusalem Committee since 1975 or at the Organization of the Islamic Conference or the Arab League have been just hypocrisy and not keenness on Jerusalem and the Palestinians.

President Donald Trump’s ominous decision crowns the crimes of usurping Palestine, displacing the Palestinian people and establishing the Zionist entity at the center of the Arab world to be a basis for imposing hegemony on the Arab Nation, looting its potentials and preventing any kind of unified Arab action.

This dangerous step by the US administration clearly uncovers that the US disrespects the international law and gives up its responsibilities, as a major power in maintaining the international peace and security. It also ignites conflicts and sedition all over the world at the expense of the peoples’ blood to guarantee its continued hegemony and arrogance threatening the international peace as a whole.

A new global system that respects states’ sovereignty, preserves peoples’ rights  should be established to put an end to the destructive policies, the collapsing value system and the hypocrisy which has become an inherent attribute to the US Administration and the countries subordinated to it.

This measure will ignite a new Palestinian Intifada as it is a blatant violation of international resolutions. The most important reason behind instability and insecurity in the Middle East is Israel’s continued occupation, the US’ relentless support for the Zionist regime, and denying the oppressed Palestinian nation the right to establish an independent state with al-Quds as it capital.

Recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli regime’s capital” will “provoke Muslims and inflame a new Intifada and intensify extremism and violent behavior for which the US and the Israeli regime will be responsible. The international community should pressure the US not to go through with the embassy move or the recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli regime's capital.

Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the State of Palestine. The US president's speech was "tantamount to the United States abdicating its role as a peace mediator. These measures are considered a reward to Israel for denying the accords and challenging the international law. The US encourages the occupation policy, settlements, apartheid and ethnic cleansing.

The US administration should reconsider this faulty decision which may result in highly negative outcomes and to avoid uncalculated steps that will harm the multicultural identity and historical status of Jerusalem.

The future of Jerusalem is not set by a state or a president, but by its history, will, and the determination of those loyal to the Palestinian cause, which will stay alive in the conscience of the Arab homeland until the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
